The Apex Legends map rotation is a major mechanism in the game. In each new season, the developers either add a new map or make massive changes to the ones in the game. However, there is more to maps than just new additions.

Apex Legends keeps things fresh with a rotating map pool in both the standard Battle Royale and Ranked modes. This guide will break down how the Apex Legends map rotation works and how to stay on top of which arenas are currently in play.

Apex Legends features five distinct maps, but only three are available at any given time as part of the Apex Legends map rotation.

This rotation keeps the gameplay diverse and encourages players to change their strategies across different map pools. Here is a list of all the maps:

  • Kings Canyon
  • World’s Edge
  • Olympus
  • Storm Point
  • Broken Moon

Now let’s see how the map rotation works in the game.

The Apex Legends map rotation system switches between three maps every 60 or 90 minutes, providing a diverse playing field and experience to the players. However, in Ranked Leagues, the map rotation narrows down to two maps, alternating between them during the splits.

Whenever a new map or a significant update to an existing map debuts at the beginning of a season, it remains exclusively in the Play Apex rotation for one to two weeks. This grace period allows players to adjust to the changes before the map joins the regular rotation.

For Ranked Arenas, these five maps rotate every 40 minutes. However, in Unranked Arenas they rotate every 15 minutes.

It’s important to note that the available maps vary with each passing season, which brings more variety and keeps Apex Legends fresh for the players. If you want to know the current map pool and rotation, it’s best to visit the official Apex Legends’ status page.
