Amazon MGM has greenlit Fallout Season 2 following the successful premiere of the game-based TV show on Prime Video.

Fans had high expectations from Amazon’s Fallout TV show, which aired on April 10. Since Fallout is based on Bethesda’s flagship game of the same title, the creator had a challenge of satisfying the game fans.

Surprisingly, the TV show accumulated raving reviews from both fans and critics, which explains the quick decision to bring Lucy, Maximus, and the Ghoul back for Fallout Season 2.

Is the Fallout TV show canon?

In a long blog post, Amazon MGM Studios, Kilter Films, Bethesda, and the show’s executive producers acknowledged the jaw-dropping response and confirmed that the show will be returning for a second season.

“We are thrilled to announce season two after only one week out and take viewers even farther into the surreal world of Fallout,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios.

Just ten days after the first season’s release, Amazon is gearing up to continue Lucy MacLean’s journey in New Vegas. This is all thanks to raving reviews and record-breaking views on Amazon Prime Video.

Fallout TV show is Prime Video’s top three most-watched titles ever and the most-watched series globally since the premiere of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, according to the streaming platform.

Amazon hasn’t shared exact viewership numbers, but it is safe to say that the Fallout TV show has pleased the video game’s fans by staying true to the original source material.

From vault politics to an honest-to-game depiction of the wasteland, the creator stayed within the game’s themes despite the Fallout TV show being a brand-new story.

The story is narrated from three different perspectives: Lucy Hale, a resident of Vault; Maximus, a Brother of Steel Soldier; and the Ghoul.

In the season 1 finale, Lucy teams up with the Ghoul to journey to New Vegas, the popular location in the Fallout game. For Fallout Season 2, fans can expect to fully experience New Vegas and hope the creator captures its essence once again.
