The M4 World Championship wrapped up a few days ago, with ECHO winning the elusive M4 crown after a dominant 4-0 performance over Blacklist International in the grand final.

With a new champion crowned, fans are now looking forward to the hero they’ll pick to receive the M4 World Championship skin.

Championship skins have been a longstanding tradition since the inaugural M1 World Championship in 2019. Every M-series, Moonton makes a commemorative skin for the winning team, along with in-game cosmetics.

In the post-game press conference after their win in the grand final, roamer Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera revealed which hero the team wants to receive the M4 World Championship skin.

Chou is not only used by one person [in the team],” he said. “All members know how to use the hero.”

Chou played a big part in the team’s success in the tournament. ECHO picked the hero eight times, and won six times. ECHO had the highest pick rate for the hero, next to Indonesia’s RRQ Hoshi, who picked the hero six times.

The hero was almost always banned by teams facing the Orcas. In the grand final, Blacklist International denied the hero in all four games against the eventual world champions, a testament to his impact.

Every winning team has had a say in which hero they want to have the commemorative skin. In 2019, Indonesia’s EVOS Legends picked Harith when they won the inaugural M1 World Championship.

The Philippines’ Bren Esports then went for Lancelot at the M2 World Championship, M2 MVP Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno‘s favorite hero.

At the M3 World Championship, every Blacklist International player agreed on Estes, the main hero behind the team’s signature UBE strategy.

Once confirmed, Chou will be the first fighter hero to receive an M-series championship skin.
