The playing field is being whittled down at Valorant Champions 2022.

In Group A, LATAM squad Leviatán pulled off two huge upsets over Team Liquid and Paper Rex to become the first team to make it into the playoffs.

Meanwhile, North American powerhouse OpTic Gaming finally broke the curse of their slow starts at international events, emerging from their group with a clean 2-0 record. The Masters Reykjavik 2022 champions defeated BOOM Esports and LOUD, securing the top seed in Group B.

Over in Group D, DRX were the first team to secure their spot in the next stage. After defeating FURIA Esports, the Korean squad found their first win against a North American team, beating 100 Thieves 2-0.

Only two teams from each of the four groups will proceed to the double-elimination playoffs bracket.
