Following their decisive 2-0 win against Karmine Corp on March 16, Sentinels became the first team to qualify for Masters Madrid‘s playoffs.

In a post-match press conference, the NA stars, including Tyson “TenZ” Ngo discussed his trust level with Zachary “zekken” Patrone, and coach Adam “kaplan” Kaplan discussed their road to success.

Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro also discussed Sentinels’ rivalry with the EMEA region, providing insight into their mindset and approach.

TenZ talked about his trust level with zekken

During the press conference, TenZ opened up about his strong bond with zekken, highlighting their mutual trust and aggressive playstyles as key factors.

“I would say it mainly comes from the fact that zekken and I have a lot of trust in each other, and we’re both pretty aggressive, so for the most part, we can stay on the same page with certain plays,” said TenZ. “So I think having an aggressive teammate like zekken is really good.

“I feel really confident about going into areas with zekken,” he continued. “And I feel like he feels competent, too.”

TenZ emphasized the importance of their partnership, stating, “I think it’s just the fact that we’re always paired up, and so it opens up a lot of opportunities for us to make a lot of like plays together.”

Zekken also chimed in, noting the dynamic nature of their gameplay.

“There were also some rounds that were not really together, but because of our aggressive playstyles, there’s kind of a push-and-pull aspect to it where I can be taking space on one side and TenZ can be taking space on another side,” said zekken. “It just kinda comes together to go with the full game plan.”

Zellsis opened up about Sentinels’ rivalry with the EMEA region

Zellsis didn’t hold back when discussing Sentinels’ competition and their difficult journey in making it to Masters Madrid.

“I mean, EMEA is a no team region now. So, you know, we can go back and go home to Americas happy,” said zellsis. “But in all seriousness, we knew EMEA was going to be tough. They’re a really good region.”

“We didn’t have the easiest road, and I mean it honestly. It doesn’t matter now if we get the easy road or not,” he continued. “I think we’ve put so much time in in the off-season and, even now, playing through play-ins and kick-off. I feel like our team is prepared for anything.”
