ECHO is adding another championship to its achievements after one of its teams, ECHO Proud, dismantled GameLab, 3-1, in the grand final of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Development League Season 1 (MDL PH Season 1).

The roster comprises former MPL PH stars James “Jeymz” Gloria, Jaypee “Jaypee” Dela Cruz, Jankurt “KurtZy” Matira, and standouts Jhonville “Outplayed” Villar, Justine “Zaida” Palma, and Renz “Seichu” Lopez.

The team finished first in Group B with a 10-3 record. In the playoffs, they took down Bren x Euphoria Esports in the semifinal to set up a grand final showdown against GameLab, the top team from Group A.

In the first game, MPL veterans Jeymz and Jaypee made a strong statement with their impressive performance on Arlott and Lolita, respectively.

They executed a game-winning combo of Final Slash and Neumonon Blast, which secured the Lord and allowed them to dominate GameLab with a 3-0 takedown and eventually, their opponent’s base.

The orcas continued their aggression in game two on the back of Jaypee’s aggressive plays on Franco. It was effective as ECHO finished game two with a lopsided 20-3 kill score.

GameLab wouldn’t go down without a fight and bounced back in the third game thanks to Jermaine “Aizawa” Fernandez’s Valentina, who had a flawless 6/0/14 KDA and 90.91% kill participation.

But that was all that was left of GameLab. In the fourth and final game, Jaypee locked in his signature Chou to go along with Outplayed’s Brody and Zaida’s Lancelot. Meanwhile, GameLab tried to spice things up with a Helcurt pick.

GameLab’s Helcurt cheese pick wasn’t enough as ECHO Proud ended the series on another lopsided 12-4 kill score in just 12 minutes of play.

With the victory, the team will be receiving the lion’s share of the US$20,000 prize pool. Jaypee was hailed the grand final MVP for his exceptional performance.
