Team Secret has finally announced its complete Dota 2 roster for the DPC 2023 season.

Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan, who played for Gaimin Gladiators last season, will be Secret’s new midlaner. The Czech Dota 2 pro has big shoes to fill, replacing Michał “Nisha” Jankowski — one of the best players in the world who won three Dota 2 Major championships with the team.

The Western European organization revealed each member of the team on Twitter. TI all-timer Clement “Puppey” Ivanov, Remco “Crystallis” Arets, Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok, Baqyt “Zayac” Emiljanov, and coach Lee “Heen” Seung Go are all staying with Secret next year.

Secret swapping out midlaners was one of the most unexpected announcements from the DPC’s offseason, considering their strong second-place finish at The International 11.

BOOM is one of the rising stars in the European region, playing for various teams like Vikin.gg and Team Tickles. He reached new heights in his pro career with Gaimin Gladiators last season.

Together with Gaimin Gladiators, BOOM won the DPC WEU 2021/2022 Tour 1 Regional Final, defeating Team Liquid 3-1 in the grand final. The high point of BOOM’s DPC 2022 season run was helping Gaimin Gladiators finish 4th in the ESL One Stockholm Major.

The 22-year-old’s strong major performance at the Stockholm Major helped secure Gaimin Gladiators enough DPC points to qualify for The International 2022. However, after finishing in 9th-12th place at TI11, BOOM parted ways with Gaimin Gladiators.

Despite a relatively disappointing 2022 season run where Secret failed to qualify for any Majors, the team found their groove toward the end of the year. They won the TI11 Last Chance Qualifier, defeating Virtus.pro 2-0 in the grand final.

Secret ended up finishing a respectable second to a dominant Tundra Esports, despite going through numerous roster changes at the start of the year.

Secret will start their DPC 2023 season run in the upcoming Winter Tour set to begin on January 9 next year.
