The new season will adapt the events from chapters 98 to 127 of the manga.

It takes place right after the events of the second half of Season 2. In the Entertainment District Arc, Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, and the Sound Hashira, Uzui Tengen, managed to defeat the Upper Demon Six siblings Daki and Gyutaro.

However, the battle took its toll on the Demon Slayer Corp members with most of them left near death. Even the group’s powerful Hashira, Tengen, suffered permanent damage and was forced to retire after the clash at the Entertainment District.

This leaves Tanjiro and his companions having to recuperate. In the meantime, the demons have started plotting their next move to cripple the Demon Slayer Corp.
