Riot Games’ first Valorant LAN event of the year is nearly upon us.
The Valorant Champions Tour has concluded its Stage 1 Challengers tournaments. After two months of qualifiers, play-ins, group stages, and playoffs, 12 squads have emerged victorious in their respective regions. These qualified teams will be traveling to Iceland to battle it out on the international stage.
New teams around the world have raised the level of competitive Valorant to the point that all three previous international winners in Sentinels, Gambit Esports (playing under their neutral banner M3 Champions), and Acend failed to qualify for the first LAN event of 2022.
These three squads were eliminated from contention in their respective Stage 1 Challengers competitions.

All 12 teams that qualified to VCT Stage 1 Masters Reykjavik 2022
The focus has shifted to The Guard after they won the VCT NA Stage 1 Challengers Playoffs.
The Guard ruled over the North American region, sweeping Sentinels, Luminosity Gaming, and Cloud9 to qualify for the grand final where they defeated OpTic Gaming 3-2 to win their first-ever VCT event. They are now set to make their international Valorant debut in Iceland.

The top squads that finished first in their respective Stage 1 Challengers regional competitions are seeded to Masters Reykjavik 2022’s playoffs.
The rest of the teams will begin their journey in the VCT Stage 1 Masters’ group stage.
VCT Masters Reykjavik 2022 will take place from April 10 to 24 with all teams competing for a pool of 3,400 circuit points that will go toward qualifying for Valorant Champions at the end of the year.
