Back once again for another M-Series appearance, the Burmese Ghouls have defied expectations, showcasing a unique blend of strategic prowess and raw talent.

Their unorthodox strategies and exceptional teamwork have caught opponents off guard, earning them a reputation as a contender for the championship.

From the other side of the world, hailing from North America, TheOhioBrothers‘ journey in the championship has become synonymous with unpredictability as they prove themselves on the international scene.

This top-notch squad has overwhelming potential and will make sure that every MLBB fan recognizes it.

Meanwhile, the winners of the recently concluded M5 Wild Card tournament, Team SMG and Team Lilgun will definitely show everyone the true meaning of “wild card.”

With the M5 World Championship on the horizon, these powerhouse teams from Mongolia and Malaysia have enough firepower to take on the big boys of the tournament and give them a run for their money.

Fire Flux Esports, RRQ Akira, Team Flash, and See you Soon

Both RRQ Akira and FireFlux Esports feature formidable rosters that finished in the top eight at the M4 World Championship.

Since then, RRQ Akira have continued their dominance in MPL Brazil to seize their fourth straight title. Furthermore, they reigned supreme in Liga LATAM once again.

On the other hand, FireFlux, composed of players from M4 squad Incendio Supremacy, ruled the first two seasons of MTC Turkiye Championship. They also participated in MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2023, where they ended up in joint-fifth.

Meanwhile, See You Soon signed Filipino jungler Michael “MP the King” Endino and gold laner Clarense Jay “Kousei’ Camilo, who both played a crucial role in their MPL Cambodia Autumn 2023 title run.

Likewise, Team Flash recruited Filipino jungler Jaymark “Hadess” Lazaro who helped them win their first trophy in MPL Singapore Season 6.

These four teams are expected to pose a huge challenge to the projected contenders, as they aim to translate their domestic success to the world stage.

Blacklist International, Geek Fam, and HomeBois

Nobody will count out Blacklist International, Geek Fam Indonesia, and HomeBois in the upcoming M5 World Championship.

Doubted all throughout the season, Blacklist proved that the UBE strategy is still effective, using it to down rival and M4 World Champions ECHO in the playoffs to reach the grand finals. While eventually defeated by mighty AP Bren, the codebreakers showed flashes of brilliance with their new cast, and will likely be on full display in M5.

Geek Fam had a similar storyline in Indonesia. No one expected that Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy and his motley crew could challenge the titans of MPL ID — but they did until the very end. Even though they fell short against powerhouse ONIC Esports, the team pushed the Porcupines to six games before bowing out, showing that they can hang with the best of the best.

Meanwhile, HomeBois is coming off an exhilarating run in MPL Malaysia Season 12. The team finished third in the regular season, before stepping onto the pedal in the playoffs to take the crown. They showed grit and great discipline in the seven-game thriller versus team SMG in the grand final, characteristics that they can bank on this M5.

AP Bren and ONIC Esports

ONIC Esports stands as the undeniable favorite to clinch victory in the upcoming M5 World Championship. The team has enjoyed a plethora of successes throughout the year, securing triumphs in MPL ID Seasons 11 and 12, as well as claiming the MSC 2023 crown.

The team is known for its calculated, yet explosive playstyle that reflects the strategic brilliance of their Filipino coach, Denver “Yeb” Miranda.

However, their path to victory won’t be a cakewalk, as they have a chance to face AP Bren, an equally robust contender.

This year, AP Bren has triumphed in major MLBB tournaments as well, clinching victories in IESF 2023, the 32nd SEA Games, and most recently, MPL PH Season 12.

Guided by the experienced leadership and M2 world champion coach Francis “Ducky” Glindro, the team is comprised of rising stars who have showcased significant improvement throughout the year.
