Is Tank Lancelot the next big thing in ranked Mobile Legends: Bang Bang?

Lancelot is widely regarded as one of the fastest and most lethal assassin heroes in the game. His unrivaled mobility makes him a force to be reckoned with in ranked and pro play.

However, there’s been a new, unexpected twist to how he’s played recently with the emergence of tank Lancelot.

Yes, you read that right – the traditionally squishy assassin hero has been transformed into a formidable tank in MPL PH. So how does it work and is it actually viable in ranked?

The unconventional Tank Lancelot build gained traction after Smart Omega Neos’ Michael “MP the King” Endino used it to great success in MDL PH.

However, it was Smart Omega’s Dean “Raizen” Sumagui who truly made waves with this surprising strategy. In a standout performance against Season 9 champions RSG PH, Raizen showcased the full potential of this unique build.

While his damage output may have been relatively low, the build proved highly effective in enabling him to secure objectives and stay alive in team fights.

His KDA of 0/1/7 might seem unremarkable, but his ability to divert the attention of enemies was unparalleled.

Tank junglers often struggle with damage output during the early and mid-game, but a tank Lancelot’s innate physical damage helps to overcome this weakness.

Surprisingly, the build can still efficiently clear jungle creeps, as well as Turtle and Lord objectives, without prioritizing offensive items.

This is due to the Retribution’s Hunter passive, which deals True Damage per second to creeps over a three-second duration, scaling with hero level and HP, and enhanced by defensive items.

There are a few key requirements to keep in mind with this build.

Firstly, it’s important to choose the Demon Slayer talent in the Jungle Emblem tree as this will provide a 20% damage boost against crucial objectives.

Additionally, it’s important to be aware that this build may not be viable in certain team compositions.

For example, if your EXP laner and roamer have already chosen tank heroes, your team may lack sufficient damage output in the later stages of the game, which could prove risky.
