A new team will compete in the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Indonesia Season 11.

Geek Fam has joined forces with Singaporean esports organization Slate Esports to form a new team, Geek Slate, for the upcoming MPL season.

Slate Esports is the esports arm of Avium, a company recently cofounded by EVOS Esports head Ivan Yeo. The company also has an MLBB team in Singapore with a roster comprising former EVOS SG players.

In a press release shared with ONE Esports, Yeo said that the league has a special place in his heart.

“MPL Indonesia is the first place where I achieved great success, winning the M1 World Championship in 2019,” he wrote. “I can’t wait to return to MPL ID and bring Geek Slate to glory,”

Yeo will try and turn things around for the squad, which has yet to reach the MPL playoffs since entering the league in Season 4.

Last season, the Indonesian organization made strides in its lineup with the acquisition of Filipino imports Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy and Jaymark “Janaaqt” Lazaro.

Geek Fam MPLI 2022 roster

The team has improved since then, finishing second at the ONE Esports MPL Invitational 2022 and Top Clans 2022 Winter Invitational late last year.

Geek Slate has yet to announce whether they will be switching up their roster for Season 11.

This rebranding was also applied to Geek Fam’s Dota 2 roster that’s now competing in the DPC 2023 Season. Besides Dota 2 and MLBB, Geek Fam is expected to announce more teams that will adopt the Geek Slate brand later this year.
