Burn x Flash coach John Michael “Zico” Dizon has been diagnosed with COVID-19 a day before the M4 World Championship group stage, he announced on Facebook on Saturday, December 31.

According to the Filipino head coach, he will be quarantined for five days and will not be physically present in the venue for the entire duration of the group stage.

“I will bounce back stronger and I hope you support the team a little more this time as we need your strength to get us through,” he said.

The former Nexplay EVOS coach can still fulfill his coaching duties from his hotel room.

“The organization allowed me to draft and coach online,” he added. “I will do my best to help the team to the best of my ability.”

The team will go up against a stacked group A composed of MPL PH champion Blacklist International, Turkey’s Incendio Supremacy, and Myanmar’s Falcon Esports.

The top two teams of each of the four groups will earn an upper bracket advantage in the knockout stage, while the remaining will be seeded to the lower bracket. No team will be eliminated during the group stage.

Burn X Flash will kick off their M4 campaign tomorrow against Falcon Esports at 7 p.m. GMT+8.

The M4 World Championship group stage will happen from January 1 to 4. The knockout stage will take place from January 7 to 15. Here’s everything you need to know about the tournament, including the M4 pass this year.
