Blacklist International’s clean sweep against ONIC PH at the M3 World Championship grand final
The all Philippines rematch was in full effect once again as MPL PH Season 8 champion Blacklist International faced off MPL PH Season 8 first-runner up ONIC PH in the grand final.
Despite ONIC PH’s spectacular nine-game win streak in the upper bracket, Blacklist rode on their own momentum after beating BTK and RRQ Hoshi in the lower bracket, sweeping the yellow hedgehog squad four to zero.
It was evenly matched in the first game, as both teams traded blows, but Blacklist International quickly turned things around in the late game to get the 1-0 lead.
Kiel “OHEB” Soriano brought out his signature Beatrix pick in the second game, leading them to victory in just 13 minutes. OHEB also received MVP honors after he finished with a 8/1/8 KDA on the marksman hero.
ONIC PH unfortunately wasn’t able to bounce back, as the Tier One-backed squad went on to dominate in the next two games.
