Blacklist International has defended their MPL PH crown after defeating ONIC PH, 4-1, at the grand final of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines Season 8 (MPL PH Season 8).

There were ups and downs for the black and white squad going into the grand final. They were first relegated by Smart Omega to the lower bracket after a 3-1 beating in the first round.

In the lower bracket, they were able to defeat Nexplay EVOS and Smart Omega to book themselves a grand final showdown with ONIC PH.

Blacklist International showcased their grit and strength in the Land of Dawn. In the first game, Salic “HAD JI” Imam dominated with one of the best Yve performances this season, securing a 3/1/15 KDA.

ONIC fought back in the second game and was able to even up the score to 1-1. That was the last time ONIC PH notched a point against the back-to-back champions.

Blacklist International dominated all the remaining games, not giving any room for ONIC PH to breathe. In the fourth game, the black and white squad even racked up 17 kills to zero, making history.

In the fifth game of the best-of-seven series, Danerie James “Wise” del Rosario’s Bane dealt the final blow as they closed out with flying colors. , winning US$35,000.

For his outstanding performance in the series, HAD JI bagged the finals MVP, and will take home an extra US$1,000.

Blacklist International will represent the Philippines in the M3 World Championship

Blacklist International is now tied with Sunsparks as the only team to win back-to-back championship in the region.

They will also be representing the Philippines in the upcoming M3 World Championship, the biggest Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament in the world, along with 1st runner-up ONIC PH.
