The stories are true. Blacklist International do not lose to the same team twice.

They took down tournament favorite ONIC Esports, 2-1, in the lower bracket playoffs of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M3 World Championship, avenging their ONE Esports’ MPL Invitational 2021 grand final loss against the Indonesian representatives.

With this victory, Blacklist International eliminate one of the best teams in the tournament.

Holding onto a single lifeline, both teams fought tooth and nail in an attempt to advance to the next round. Blacklist eventually came out on top thanks to Kiel “OHEB” Soriano’s impressive Beatrix performance in games one and three.

It was a back-and-forth affair in the first game up until the OHEB secured a crucial triple kill at the 22-minute mark.

ONIC Esports answered back in the second game with a double marksman setup. Even though Blacklist International was ahead in the early to mid game, ONIC Esports pulled through thanks to Muhammad Satrya “Butsss” Sanubari’s Esmeralda.

He tanked most of the damage until the marksmen of his team scaled till late to close out game two, tying the series 1-1.

In the rubber match, OHEB’s signature Beatrix was locked in once again by Blacklist International.

The Tier One-backed squad accumulated an 11,000 gold lead at just 11 minutes, and everything fell into place as Blacklist International took over the game, and eventually secured the 2-1 victory against ONIC Esports.

With his incredible Beatrix plays, OHEB secured the MVP award in game one with a 9/1/3 KDA, and game three with 5/0/0 KDA.

They will next face MPL Brazil’s Keyd Stars in the third round of the lower bracket playoffs on December 15 at 2 p.m. GMT+8.
