Worlds 2020 champions and three-time LCK winners DWG KIA is officially rebranding for the 2023 Spring season.

The Korean team will be changing its name to Dplus KIA ahead of the 2023 LCK Spring split, which starts on January 18.

The new name is a nod to the team’s iconic legacy. The “D” serves as an homage to the organization’s original name, DAMWON Gaming, while “plus” represents its limitless connectivity and expansive potential for a bright future.

“Dplus KIA is one of the most successful teams in the history of League of Legends and it’s time for our brand to take its rightful place amongst the most popular organizations in the world,” said Joon young Lee, Vice Chairman and COO of DK, in an official press release.

Worlds 2022 champion and DK bot laner Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu will showcase the team’s new jersey and branding at the LCK Season Kickoff event. Deft will lead his own drafted team against fellow LCK superstar and rival, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok of T1.

The showmatch between Team Faker and Team Deft will take place on January 10 at 5:30 p.m. GMT+8. Catch the action live on the official LCK Korea Twitch channel.
