Singapore-based esports organization RSG is back in the Dota 2 scene, picking up ChubbyBoiz, a stack that qualified for the DPC SEA 2021/2022 Tour 2 Div II.

The roster signing was announced today, and came out of the blue for a team that almost didn’t make it to Div II. ChubbyBoiz was initially eliminated in the open qualifiers by Team Apex, before the result was overturned due to an account-sharing scandal where Team Apex’s and Team Orca’s players were permanently banned.

This marks more than two years since anybody played under the RSG banner. The Singapore-based esports organization, formerly known as Resurgence, first entered Dota 2 in 2018 with an all-Singaporean roster, before eventually pulling out in December 2019.

RSG is already off to a blazing start in DPC SEA 2021/2022 Tour 2 Div II. The roster won both of their first series against Army Geniuses and Motivate Trust Gaming in clean 2-0s, putting them on top of the Division.

But they still face stiff competition from their division rivals. The revamped Talon Esports roster looked terrifyingly efficient in their brief outing against Lilgun, while teams like TNC Predator and MTG will want to prove that their relegation from Div I were flukes.
