After teasing Filipino fans since September, global esports organization Team Secret has finally confirmed that they are forming an esports team for Riot Games’ newest mobile MOBA, League of Legends: Wild Rift.

Team Secret’s Wild Rift division will be based in the Philippines, similar to how their other esports teams work like their PUBG Mobile teams from Thailand and Malaysia, their Dota 2 and Rainbow Six Siege squads from European regions, and their League of Legends team from Vietnam.

Secret says it aims to “build a national Champion” with the Philippines-based team that can compete internationally in upcoming Wild Rift tournaments.

Team Secret has not yet revealed its full Wild Rift roster, but they have already dropped a teaser photo of the team’s first member. Sino kaya siya?

“I always tell people — give us 3 seasons and we can build a Champion team,” promised Team Secret CEO John Yao. “Come join us on this journey, and we will do our best to make PH proud as well.”

It seems like the Wild Rift esports scene is almost ready to take off next year, with organization’s establishing their Wild Rift teams and companies announcing upcoming tournaments for 2021.
