ONIC Esports have proven once again that they are kings of SEA.

The reigning Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) champions earned their second international title this year after sweeping Bigetron Alpha, 4-0, in the grand final of ESL Snapdragon Pro Series Season 3 SEA Challenge Finals on Sunday, July 23 at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Besides the trophy, the two-time defending MPL Indonesia winners bagged the US$65,000 top prize.

Even though they weren’t the top seed coming in from the group stage, ONIC never once dropped a single series in the playoffs.

ONIC Esports cruised to the Challenge Finals championship series after beating Yoodo Red Giants, RSG Slate Philippines, and AP Bren in the upper bracket.

Bigetron Alpha fulfilled their promise, eliminating the Filipino teams to set up an all-Indonesian grand final showdown, sweeping RSG Slate PH, ECHO, and AP Bren in the lower bracket.

Bigetron were coming hot into the final series, but ONIC stopped their momentum in the first game. Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol‘s Hayabusa and Calvin “CW” Winata’s Wanwan combined for a perfect 8/0/8 KDA, leading their team to a 10-2 win in 13 minutes.

ONIC’s supremacy continued in the second game. Muhammad “Butsss” Sanubari’s Uranus served as their meat shield, allowing Kairi’s Joy and CW’s Beatrix to freely unleash their damage output. They went on to take a 16-3 victory in 16 minutes.

In the third game, Bigetron put up a better fight with Dicky “Saken” Cahyana’s Clint. However, in the 20-minute mark, MSC 2023 Finals MVP Nicky “Kiboy” Fernando’s Chou set up a game-changing pickoff on Saken inside Bigetron’s base, enabling ONIC to seize a 3-0 series advantage.

ONIC Esports capped off their flawless performance with a dominant 12-4 win in just 12 minutes in the fourth game. Gilang “S A N Z”‘s Pharsa and CW’s Claude powered their onslaught, racking up a combined 6/0/15 KDA.

The Yellow Hedgehogs will aim to sustain their momentum with the resumption of MPL ID Season 12 on July 27.
