One of Russia’s most experienced carry players is back home.

Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev is returning to Virtus Pro three years after he left the organization, VP announced last Saturday. First exploding onto the scene with Team Empire, it was with VP that RAMZES became known as one of Dota 2’s best carry players.

The 23-year-old first joined VP in 2016, spending three years at the Russian organization as a key cog in one of the most dominant teams in Dota 2 history. The VP team, led by Alexey “Solo” Berezin, won five Majors in two years, though disappointing The International performances and internal conflicts eventually led to the dissolution of the team.

Now, RAMZES will rejoin a new VP roster filled with young CIS stars. He is now one of its most experienced players, a drastic shift from his first stint with the organization.

The roster has since established itself as a mainstay in Division I of the Dota Pro Circuit, though it is still lacking championship wins.

VP sought a new carry after letting go of Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko, who was embroiled in controversy after drawing a pro-Russian invasion symbol in an official match.

With the returning veteran’s championship experience, the Russian organization will be hoping to get back to its winning ways, especially against the new king of the scene: The International 10 champions Team Spirit, only the second Eastern Europe team to ever win TI.
