Activision released an official blog revealing the details surrounding the massive mid-season update

When does Warzone Season 1 Reloaded start?
Warzone Season 1 Reloaded launches on January 17, 9 a.m. Pacific Time (PT), alongside the Modern Warfare Season 1 Reloaded.

Warzone Season 1 Reloaded patch notes
The major mid-season update reintroduces a famous challenge and brings a wave of brand-new features to shake up the gameplay.
Champion’s Quest
The Champion’s Quest debuts in Urzikstan, enabling players to get a nuke and win a match instantly.
Activision has only revealed the first step in completing this arduous contract, which is to win a total of 30 games within a season or earn five consecutive wins.
After fulfilling one of those, “the next steps will fall into place.”
Covert Exfil
The new Covert Exfil feature offers players a new way to escape early and win in Warzone. With it, you can call in a helicopter that can fly you and your squad out of the match.
However, only five exfils are available in buy stations per match before the Gulag closes, and they come at a hefty price.

Raven Software has clarified on X that “successfully extracting via Covert Exfil does not count as a traditional win but rather as a separate stat, and will not count towards Champion’s Quest progress.”
Furthermore, there is a new Covert Exfil leaderboard for players with the most extractions using this method.
Weapon Case
A new Weapon Case objective is available in Warzone for the first time.
At the start of each match, a single weapon case emerges in a small search area. Finding and holding the case marks you for all enemies to see.
If you manage to stay alive at the end of the game, or your squad successfully escapes using a Covert Exfil, you and your teammates will earn exclusive rewards.
Night Vision Gulag
This new Gulag public event turns off the lights in the chamber combat zone, setting up a night vision gunfight between players battling for redeployment.
A public event in Warzone refers to an occurrence that happens randomly during matches.
Weapon balance updates in Warzone Season 1 Reloaded
Raven Software shared on X that the mid-season update includes a “more comprehensive balance pass to weapons we’ve been monitoring since launch.” However, the game developer did not mention any specific weapons.
Meanwhile, the update on January 11 focuses on balancing the MTZ Interceptor, and fixing several bugs.
