Zeta Division is holding an open recruitment drive to search for its sixth player in the upcoming VCT 2023 season.

The Japanese organization was one of the 10 to secure a franchised spot in the Pacific league, where the rules specify that teams must field a minimum of six players.

Zeta shot to global prominence at Masters Reykjavik, following their historic third-place finish — the highest ever for a Japanese team. Japan had the talent to compete with the best in the world, and Zeta were living proof of it.

In a press release announcing the news, Zeta set out its requirement for potential players. For starters, they need to have been born before March 2005 in order to comply with the minimum age in the league.

At the same time, players must be at least Radiant and be able to accept and follow instructions from coaches and others. Zeta is not looking for players to fill a specific role, and is welcoming applicants across all roles.

The team also stressed the importance of being aware of the impact statements or comments made on social media such as Twitter can have — it clearly doesn’t want to get embroiled in any Twitter drama.

Other qualities it is looking for include high motivation and the drive to improve even outside of team practice.

The organization did not specify any language requirements, but it’s probably safe to assume that players should be proficient in Japanese.

Interested players can apply via this Google Form, where they will need to submit details such as past competitive achievements, experience with other games, and a clip of their own gameplay.

Applicants who pass the initial screening will be notified within 15 business days.
