The biggest Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament in Indonesia is back.

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Indonesia, or MPL ID Season 9, pits the best teams in Indonesia against each other, where they will fight tooth and nail for the title of the best Mobile Legends: Bang Bang team in Indonesia.

Here are three matches you don’t want to miss in the first week of the tournament.

Top 3 must-watch MPL ID Season 9 matches

EVOS Legends vs Aura Fire

EVOS Legends will take on Aura Fire, one of the fastest-rising teams in the league.

Aura Fire hasn’t found the success it would like in previous seasons, but their unorthodox playstyle makes for some of the best matches in the region. EVOS Legends, on the other hand, are slowly rediscovering their groove after failing to crack the grand finals during MPL ID Season 8.

Both teams will be looking to prove themselves this season, and this series could be a key indicator of their form for the rest of the season. Eyes will also be watching the fresh-faced recruits from the MDL to see how they perform in the big leagues.

Watch EVOS Legends take on Aura Fire on February 19, 6 p.m. GMT+8.

Alter Ego vs RRQ Hoshi

RRQ Hoshi is on the hunt for their fourth MPL ID title, headlined by the return of Muhammad “Lemon” Ikhsan. They have also promoted two of their MDL players, Riko “Violence” and Edi “Yummy” Susanto, to the main roster.

On the side of Alter Ego, the team had their fair share of success in 2020 when they went undefeated at the ONE Esports MPL Invitational 2020. However, they were not able to replicate that success in the seasons after.

They appear determined to make big changes to rectify that situation this time. In preparation of the season, Julian “LeoMurphy” Murphy and Ahmad “Ahmad” Abdurrahman were moved to Alter Ego X in exchange for three players.

With both teams aiming for the top again, this will be an exciting matchup. At the end of the day, it might just come down to who is hungrier for the championship crown this season.

Alter Ego will face RRQ Hoshi on February 20, 3 p.m. GMT+8.

Rebellion Zion vs Bigetron Alpha

After numerous changes to the organization and roster, Rebellion Zion has settled on an almost completely different look for the lineup this season.

Though many of the recruits are new to this level of competition, Rebellion Zion’s manager Claudia “Claupaw” Rina has said that the team is now more prepared than ever to reach the playoffs this season.

On the other side of the fence, Bigetron Alpha has opted to stick with mostly the same lineup, even though they are playing without their star jungler Jabran “Branz” Bagus, who left the team last December.

The contrast between the two teams is what makes this matchup a must-watch. It’s a David versus Goliath situation – but both teams have as much to prove as the other.

Rebellion Zion will face Bigetron Alpha on February 18, 3:30 p.m. GMT+8.
