The stakes have never been higher at the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) Summer 2023. The third split of season 13 is set to offer an impressive 180 championship points to the victor, a significant increase of 40 points compared to the Winter and Spring seasons. G2 Esports and MAD Lions claimed 120 championship points each during those seasons.

Now, the question on everyone’s mind is: which team will seize the lion’s share of championship points this season and secure a coveted spot at the LEC Season Finals?

Here’s everything you need to know about the LEC Summer 2023, including its schedule, format, where to buy tickets, where to watch, and more.

What is the LEC Summer 2023?

The LEC Summer 2023 is the third split of the year in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region’s professional League of Legends league.

Format

The tournament has three stages — regular season, group stage, and playoffs.

10 teams will play each other in a single round-robin, best-of-one format in the regular season. The top eight teams will qualify for the Summer groups.

The remaining eight teams will be divided into two groups of four in the group stage, which will be played in a double-elimination, best-of-three format. The top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs.

The playoffs will follow a double-elimination format, where the remaining four teams will play in best-of-fives.

The winner of the Summer playoffs will be crowned the LEC Summer champion and automatically qualify for the Season Finals.
