The League of Legends competition is heating up with all 24 regional teams locked in for Worlds 2022. Right after the LCS Championship victory of Cloud9 at the United Center in Chicago, Riot Games closed out the night with the Worlds Play-In Stage and Group Stage draw.

As one of 24 top-performing teams, LCK 2022 Summer Champions Gen.G reacted to the drawing of teams and discussed which group has the toughest competition.

Gen.G share their thoughts on the Worlds 2022 draw

In the video, Han “Peanut” Wang-ho led the discussion and believed that Group A — which consists of LPL’s Edward Gaming, Cloud9, and fellow Korean team T1 — was this year’s “group of death”.

Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk and Son “Lehends” Si-woo also chimed in by saying that the T1 vs EDG matchup is a classic Worlds rivalry. The two teams fought each other in the international tournament’s Group Stage in 2015, 2017, and 2021.

“Seriously, T1 and Edward Gaming meet so often. It’s like fate,” said the duo.

Aside from Group A, the GEN bot laner mentioned that Group B was also stacked, having 2022 LPL Summer Champions JD Gaming alongside LEC’s G2 Esports and LCK’s DWG KIA.

Now that Gen.G is slotted into Group D, Ruler is keeping an eye on 100 Thieves’ Victor “FBI” Huang because of his flashy playstyle. Peanut jokingly added that FBI might “arrest” him in the bot lane.
