Aventurine is one of the best 5-star support characters in Honkai Star Rail. The flamboyant IPC gambler follows the path of Preservation and can deal Imaginary Damage.

If you plan to pull for Aventurine in Honkai Star Rail, there are a few things to keep in, especially the best team composition. As such, in this guide, we explain the best Aventurine team composition in Honkai Star Rail.

With Aventurine, you can finally assemble a premium follow-up attack team in Honkai Star Rail. We recommend going with the following:

  • Dr. Ratio (DPS)
  • Topaz (Sub-DPS)
  • Aventurine (Sustain)
  • Ruan Mei (Amplifie/Buffer)

The best thing about this team is that every character (except Ruan Mei) can deal follow-up attacks, which, when accumulated, is a ton of extra damage. It also helps Aventurine stack up Blind Bet quickly.

This is a triple-DPS team where every character always has a decent shield and a significant damage buff. Also, as diligently pointed out by EODGamer, every boss in Star Rail is either weak to Imaginary or Fire damage, so you don’t have to worry about not having Silver Wolf in your team.

Aventurine has two roles in this team. First, use his skill to provide the Fortified Wager shield to all allies and stack up Blind Bet.

Second, use his Ultimate to deal massive Imaginary damage to a single target and inflict the Unnerved debuff on them, only to make them susceptible to more crit damage by Topaz or Dr. Ratio. Also, stacking up Blind Bet to deal a devastating seven-hit follow-up attack buffed up by Ruan Mei.

Speaking of Ruan Mei, the elegant scholar, is just the icing on the cake in this team. With her talent, everyone gets a speed buff, which for Aventurine means using ultimate more frequently to stack up Blind Bet.

Most importantly, you can use Ruan Mei’s skill to buff up everyone’s damage and break effect. Lastly, with her Ultimate, everyone’s defense gets more fortified, making this team an absolute tank.

Dr. Ratio is the primary damage dealer on this team. His kit is pretty straightforward, with the only exception being his follow-up attacks. There’s only a 40% chance to unleash a follow-up attack when using Dr. Ratio’s skill.

However, it can be increased depending on the number of debuffs the enemy target has. Interestingly enough, all three characters  – Aventurine, Ruan Mei, and Topaz – can inflict debuffs on enemies, so it’s pretty much guaranteed to get a follow-up attack from Dr. Ratio every time you use his skill.

Lastly, Dr. Ratio’s ultimate can apply a debuff called Wiseman’s Folly. Every time an ally attacks an enemy inflicted with this debuff, Dr. Ratio will launch a follow-up attack. To conclude, you can trigger multiple follow-up attacks from Dr. Ratio in a single battle.

Topaz compliments Dr. Ratio’s damage output by dealing her own follow-up attacks to a single target. Her ultimate gives Numby a massive crit damage boost, which can stack up further if you target an enemy inflicted by Aventurine’s Unnerved debuff.

Furthermore, since Topaz can unleash more follow-up attacks in a single turn, she can generate more Blind Bets for Aventurine, thus allowing him to unleash his follow-up attacks more frequently.

The best free-to-play Aventurine team is surprisingly powerful, with two DPS and two buffers. Firstly, Yukong can buff everyone’s attack with her skill, while also increasing everyone’s crit rate and crit damage with her ultimate.

Yukong can also dish out a ton of Imaginary damage to a single target with her enhanced basic attack and ultimate. Aventurine’s follow-up attack and his ultimate can benefit from all the buffs Yukong has to offer.

Asta is a part-DPS and part-buffer for this team. Her skill deals AOE fire damage and her talent buffs up everyone’s attack. Most importantly, her ultimate can increase every ally’s speed, which should allow Aventurine to activate his ultimate more frequently and gain Blind Bet quickly.

Dr. Ratio works pretty much the same. He can benefit from Yukong and Asta’s buffs and use his skill to deal Imaginary damage to a single enemy.

His ultimate can not just deal crippling damage to a single enemy but also apply Wiseman’s Folly debuff and allow him to deal more follow-up attacks. Naturally, his follow-up attacks are important since they can stack up Blind Bet more quickly for Aventurine.

Speaking of Aventurine, the IPC gambler has two roles to play in this team: providing everyone shields and dealing Imaginary damage to enemies.

Asta, Yukong, and Dr. Ratio can also benefit from the crit-damage buff if they target enemies inflicted by Aventurine’s Unnerved debuff.

While you can build a mono-imaginary team in HSR with Loucha, Aventurine is a better option because he can deal significantly more damage with his follow-up and ultimate attacks, especially with Yukong’s attack buff.

We recommend going with the following:

  • Dr. Ratio (DPS)
  • Aventurine (Sub-DPS/Sustain)
  • Yukong (Buffer)
  • Silver Wolf (Sub-DPS/Buffer)

This is an incredibly powerful team composition, as you’re getting three DPS characters, two of which boost party defense and weaken enemy defense, respectively, and a buffer.

Why is Acheron’s speech colored red in Honkai Star Rail 2.0?

Firstly, you will need Silver Wolf to implement Imaginary weakness to enemies. Thankfully, her skill and talent can also weaken the enemy’s defense and apply debuffs.

Yukong can boost everyone’s attack, crit rate, and crit damage, but you can also use her to deal Imaginary damage.

Dr. Ratio can benefit from Silver Wolf’s debuffs and Yukong’s buffs and deal massive Imaginary damage to a single target with his skill and follow-up attack. His follow-up attack can also help Aventurine stack Blind Bet quickly.

Aventurine is pretty useful in this team. Aside from providing defense and dealing Imaginary damage, he can significantly increase the Effect Resistance of allies. All three characters can benefit from this, as it would reduce their chances of getting inflicted by a debuff.
