Sigma is described as “an eccentric astrophysicist and volatile tank” that was “manipulated by Talon and deployed as a living weapon”.

His signature weapons and abilities include:

  • Hyperspheres – gravitic charges that bounce off walls and can cause notable splash damage
  • Experimental Barrier – a floating barrier that Sigma can propel to any location and dismiss at any time
  • Kinetic Grasp – the ability to freeze incoming projectiles and convert them into shields
  • Accretion – the ability to gather debris and use it as projectiles against enemies

Sigma’s Ultimate ability is called Gravitic Flux, where he lifts opponents in a target area off the ground before throwing them back to the ground.

Normally when a new character is introduced to the game, it takes a while before they’re available for use in competitive play, however, with Blizzard running a Competitive Beta season for the next two weeks to test Role Queue, Sigma is already available to play in comp.

The highly anticipated role queue feature allows players to choose which role they want to play before joining a game.

The update ensures a balanced 2-2-2 team composition, comprising two tanks, two supports, and two damage heroes.
