SIBOL, the Philippines’ national esports body, has announced the seven-man roster that will compete in the upcoming 14th World Esports (WE) Championship of the International Esports Federation (IESF).

After a three-day Combine event from July 15 to 17, five members of Blacklist International and two from MHRLK Esports will represent the country this December in Bali, Indonesia.

Both teams secured their spot in the Combine event after a grueling qualifier which ran from July 8 to 10. Out of 18 teams, Blacklist and MHRLK made it to the grand final, with the former winning the match 2-1.

According to the organization, Blacklist International and MHRLK Esports were invited to Combine for three days in order to determine the final lineup of the national team.

Blacklist coach Kristoffer “BON CHAN” Ricaplaza, who was appointed as SIBOL’s MLBB coach after his team won the qualifier, was able to recommend players for the roster. But ultimately, a committee had the final say on which players made the cut for the national team.

In addition to in-game skill and knowledge, SIBOL also took into consideration the professionalism and willingness of the players to represent the country.

As part of SIBOL’s tradition, the official lineup will take their surnames as their in-game names in the tournament.
