Now that the Spring 2021 season has ended, League of Legends professional teams are taking a break. Invictus Gaming’s Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok flew back to South Korea from China, and has been livestreaming his solo queue games

More recently, he appeared on former Overwatch pro player and now fulltime streamer Suk “DDDD” Joo-hyung’s channel. Sitting next to each other, they talked about the origins of his pro gaming career.

TheShy shared that while he was still in college, he wasn’t even streaming his solo queue games, yet he was on the radar. LPL team Edward Gaming first contacted him, followed by Invictus Gaming

“In solo queue, I felt that Rookie really played so well,” said TheShy. “I didn’t think anyone played well at that time, and I myself was quite wild. However, that’s not the case now.”

“I admired Rookie very much,” TheShy continued. “He’s the only one I thought of as strong, so joining Invictus Gaming wouldn’t be a bad idea.”

TheShy further described Song “Rookie” Eui-jin as a big brother who takes care of others. He also pointed out that Invictus Gaming felt like family, which moved his heart, even though Edward Gaming was a stronger organization.

In the end, since his streaming contract had just ended, and his “favorite player’s team extended an olive branch” to him, TheShy joined Invictus Gaming in May 2017, and the rest was history.
