Crewmates and impostors are on the rise as online game Among Us peaks at 100 million downloads.

Innersloth LLC’s game has obtained 100 million downloads on the Google Play store, with 3.8 million concurrent players worldwide.

On top of being a free-to-play title, Among Us’ straightforward objectives and simple controls have captured the interests of many people stuck inside their homes due the COVID-19 pandemic.

From popular streamers like Imane “Pokimane” Anys, esports stars like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, to celebrities like Jordan Fisher, almost everyone is playing Among Us which makes it currently one of the most popular games of 2020 alongside battle royale game Fall Guys.

With its skyrocketing fame, the developers have decided to delay the development of the sequel and focus on improving Among Us 1 instead.

“However, seeing how many people are enjoying Among Us 1 really makes us want to be able to support the game and take it to the next level. We have decided to cancel Among Us 2 and instead put all our focus into improving Among Us 1,” stated Innersloth.
