The night skies will be even brighter with the arrival of Animal Crossing’s Summer Update Wave 2 which features firework displays, access to dream islands, and island backup & restoration service.

All Sundays of August will feel like a genuine natsu matsuri (summer festival) with fireworks shows prepared for both the northern and southern hemispheres. The fox Redd will be there as well in front of the town hall to hold raffles. Players can win cute prizes like bubble blowers, sparklers, and glowing antenna accessories. Each raffle ticket costs 500 bells to participate.

Nintendo is putting a personal twist to the display as players can customize their own fireworks to launch in the sky. The first fireworks show will commence this August 2 at 7 p.m.

Previously an Animal Crossing: New Leaf feature, the Dream Suite is making a comeback in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Long-time fans will recognize the tapir Luna as she leads the players’ Dream Suite experience. Visiting other islands all over the world through dreams is now possible with this feature.

Visiting islands through the Dream Suite is actually different from visiting by flying through the Dodo Airlines. Any action that the player performs inside the Dream Suite will not be saved, and players can visit their desired island anytime without requiring owners to be present during their time of visit.

The Dream Suite feature is only available for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers.

The patch also includes the Island Backup & Restoration Service which enables players to save their data online, a crucial feature in case of any accidents.

Nintendo also confirmed that the highly-requested feature that will enable players to transfer saved data will launch later this year. With this heads-up, we’ll be seeing the island of actress Brie Larson in no-time!

The free update will start this July 30 and will be followed by another patch this coming fall season.
