What is Stormgate?

Stormgate is a free-to-play RTS game developed by Frost Giant Studios, a team of industry veterans renowned for their work on iconic titles.

Set in a gritty, post-apocalyptic future, the game thrusts players into a world ravaged by an alien invasion. As humanity fights for survival, players command one of several distinct factions, each with its unique units, abilities, and playstyle.

All Stormgate units

Stormgate features three playable factions: the Human Vanguard, humanity’s last stand against the invading demonic forces; the Infernal Host, an evil alien race bent on conquering the world; and the Celestial Armada, a mysterious third faction with advanced technology that intervenes in the conflict.

Human Vanguard

The Vanguard was created as humanity’s final defense as Earth faced extinction. Comprised of the world’s top scientists, soldiers, and strategists, they stand firm against the invading Infernal Host.

Elite units, known as ‘Dagger teams,’ use colorful callsigns on the battlefield for better communication.

Aerial bomberThe aerial bomber delivers heavy ground damage but remains slow, even with upgrades.
AtlasThe Atlas has tank and deployed modes with AOE damage, and can be paired with an Evac for harassment.
B.O.B.B.O.B.s harvest resources, build, repair, and defend. Multiple B.O.B.s speed up construction. Produced from the command post.
EvacThe Evac is an early transport air unit, holding a set number of units based on size. It pairs well with Atlases for quick deployment and extraction.
ExoExos are produced from the barracks, can attack ground and air units, counter Vulcans with skilled kiting, and become flak cannons in sentry posts.
HedgehogThe Hedgehog is the fastest unit, a missile jeep that deals rapid damage but requires reloading between attacks.
HornetThe Hornet is an anti-aircraft unit from the hangar bay, gaining speed and damage when out of combat.
LancerThe Lancer is a tier 1 melee unit from the barracks with extended range due to its lance. It deflects some projectiles and reduces damage.
Med TechThe Med Tech is a caster unit that heals or repairs friendly units, with upgrades and abilities unlocked over time.
S.C.O.U.T.S.C.O.U.T.s are fast, laser-shooting dogs with enhanced detection. They can be upgraded for bonus damage, repaired, and increase vision when placed in sentry posts.
SentinelThe Sentinel is a unit with support abilities that boost movement speed and disrupt enemy units by reducing their speed, damage, and vision.
SkyriderSkyrider is a levitating spherical support unit, similar to the science vessel from Starcraft.
VulcanVulcans are ranged mech units from the mech bay, using chain guns with AOE cone damage that increases in speed over time. They excel against small units and can clear trees with their jump jets.

Infernal Host

The Infernal Host is a relentless warrior race that invades planets like a locust swarm, using portals to spread across the galaxy in its quest for power.

It drains resources and Animus for its dark magic, subjugating entire civilizations and reshaping conquered worlds in its image.

Despite its brutality, the Host follows a strict code, valuing strength, victory, and loyalty above all else.

INFERNAL HOST UNITSUNIT DESCRIPTION
BruteThe Brute is a two-headed ogre-like creature that can split into two Fiends to attack nearby enemies. It can be upgraded to split automatically upon death.
FiendFiends spawn from a Brute and automatically attack nearby enemies. Their health deteriorates unless kept within the Shroud, where it regenerates. Fiends count toward the population cap.
Burned OneBurned Ones are created by Maloc’s “Serve the Flame” ability. They cost no supply, and up to five can be summoned at once, growing larger with more corpses consumed.
DoombringerThe Doombringer is an air transport that generates a Shroud radius when deployed but must land to activate it.
FelhogsFelhogs are automatically produced by meat farms, serve as a defensive deterrent, and provide 0.5 animus upon death.
Flayed DragonThe Flayed Dragon is summoned with enough animus. It inhales the infest effect from nearby units, damaging them and restoring white health to nearby allies.
GauntsGaunts are Infernals’ basic infantry with bouncing glaive attacks. They can be upgraded to spread infest, spawning Fiends from infested enemy deaths. They target both air and ground units.
HellborneThe Hellborne is a siege unit with cone damage on impact. It is built at the iron vault and requires a shadowcleft.
ImpThe Imp is the Infernal faction’s worker unit, sacrificing itself to build structures.

Celestial Armada

The Celestial Armada is an ancient, advanced civilization traveling the universe in massive world-ships, seeking Animus-rich planets to study and protect against threats.

Led by Sovereigns, they wage an endless war with the Infernal Host. Their core race, the angelic Biosynths, has merged with nanotechnology, while the Machine Legion, a terrifying robotic force, powers their war efforts.

AnimancerAnimancers are Celestials’ caster units that drain enemies to heal allies and cloak allies with stealth.
ArchangelsArchangels are the Celestial Armada’s strongest units, easily destroying flying enemies and crashing down to become avatars of celestial vengeance.
ArgentsArgents are frontline Celestial units that attack air and ground. Their damage is stronger with full energy, making them ideal for hit-and-run tactics. Energy can be recharged by power banks.
CabalCabal is a swarm of spirits surging forward to immobilize the Celestials’ enemies from a distance.
KriKri can receive a late-game upgrade, allowing them to become invulnerable briefly before self-destructing and damaging nearby ground targets when fatally hit.
PrismThe Prism harvests both luminite and therium but is not needed for building construction.
SaberThe Saber is the Celestial Armada’s main battle tank, equipped with a long-range dark matter cannon. It hovers, can temporarily boost speed with mass accelerators, and has a self-repair function.
ScannerThe Scanner is an early Celestial ground scouting unit with a ranged attack.
ScythesScythes are core Celestial air units that deal more damage the closer they are to their target. They have an air-to-air attack but are fragile, making them glass cannons.
VectorsVectors are mobile skirmisher Biosynths, ideal for enemy harassment and capable of teleporting using Delta Jump.
