The Dota 2 action kicks into gear in the City of Kings — Lima, Peru, for the first-ever Major in South America.

The Lima Major features 18 of the best Dota 2 teams in the world, competing for money, championships, and perhaps most importantly — Dota Pro Circuit points, crucial for direct qualification to The International 2023.

The Lima Major is the first Major of the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit.

18 teams from six different regions compete for the crown in the City of Kings. A substantial prize pool and DPC points are up for grabs.

The latter will likely prove essential for any team’s chances to qualify directly for The International 2023 since only 12 teams will be directly invited to Dota 2’s premier event.

Format of the Lima Major

The 18 attending teams are split into two groups. Each team will play a best-of-two round robin to determine their final standings.

The top four teams in each group are directly seeded into the upper bracket of the playoffs. The next two teams qualify for the lower bracket. We will unfortunately say goodbye to the last three teams, who will be eliminated.
