In the anime movie The Tunnel to Summer the Exit of Goodbye, two high school students discover a magical tunnel which grants one’s desire in exchange for years of their own life.

This sci-fi, drama film is directed by Tomohisa Tahuchi, known for his work on Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna and Kino’s Journey – The Beautiful World.

The movie will be released on September 9 in theaters in Japan. Anime fans can already start purchasing movie tickets packaged with official merchandise on Natsuton’s website.

The 30-second movie trailer showed protagonists Tono Kaoru and Anzu Hanaki animated by CLAP the studio behind Pompo: The Cinéphile.

The trailer presents warm interactions between the two — the lending an umbrella, standing closely to each other, and staring directly into each other’s eyes. Tono and Anzu will eventually get closer and discover each other’s stories as they explore the Urashima Tunnel.
