In just a few days, the best Mobile Legends: Bang Bang female teams in Southeast Asia will clash at the first ONE Esports’ MLBB Women’s Invitational 2022 (MWI 2022).

One team that will compete in the tournament is BREN Victress. Even though the team formed just a month ago, team captain Ashlie Grace “Ashqt” Arevalo said she was confident that their participation is not just important for the organization, but for the overall female MLBB professional scene as well.

In a pre-tournament interview, Ashqt talked about representing the country in the first official women-only Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament.

“How does it feel to represent the Philippines? Of course we are excited, the opportunity to represent our country in a tournament doesn’t come every day, especially for women,” she said.

She also talked about what keeps her and the team motivated during their training, citing that it’s more than just winning it all in the tournament.

“We want to prove that esports is not only for men, but for all genders,” she said. “For us, appearing at MWI 2022 is an opportunity to show how Filipino female MLBB pro players play, and also show that women can also compete in the competitive scene.”

When asked how the team was feeling going into the tournament, Ashqt said that they were “confident,” and were excited at the prospect of meeting their fellow competitors.

“We are confident, but not a 100 percent confident because we know that there are still a lot of good players that we haven’t met, and now we will have a chance to meet them,” Ashqt said.
