LCK organization Afreeca Freecs bolsters its 2021 line-up with ex-Evil Geniuses player Bae “Bang” Jun-sik and ex-Hanwha Life player Son “Lehends” Si-woo.

As a two-time Worlds winner and four-time LCK champion, Bang left his home country of Korea in 2018 and took his talents to the LCS, where he played for 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses.

Though he entered the western league as an ADC veteran, Bang didn’t achieve much with the mentioned teams and would rarely get out of their usual mid-table presence.

In his 2020 stint with EG, he had a strong showing in Spring with a second-place finish in ADC kills (66) but dropped down to eighth in Summer (45).

“I want to improve my through competition with the best players in the LCK,” said Bang in an official post. “As I continue to learn, I won’t give up and do my best to show you more than what you expect.”

Afreeca’s second recruit of Lehends will be Bang’s right-hand support in the bot-lane. With Bang’s veteran status and experience, we’ll probably see Lehends exponentially improve during the 2021 season.

While he first rose to popularity with Griffin in 2017, the support player barely made any progress with his recent time on Hanwha Life Esports, who placed eighth in Spring and ninth in Summer.

“I’m glad to join Afreeca Freecs and can’t wait to play with good teammates,” stated Lehends. “Thanks for the support and I’ll show you a good performance.”

The newly founded duo is the final piece to AF’s 2021 line-up. The two will join Kim “Kiin” Gi-in, Lee “Dread” Jin-hyeok, and Song “Fly” Yong-jun to represent the Freecs in the new LCK franchise format.
