Riot Games is excited to introduce the Empyrean Cup 2023, the inaugural League of Legends (League) open tournament in the Philippines, marking a return to competitive gaming since Riot reacquired the publishing rights for League and Teamfight Tactics in the Asia Pacific (APAC) earlier this year.
Scheduled from mid-September to early November 2023, a total of 256 teams will compete in the tournament’s open qualifiers.

Empyrean Cup 2023 schedule and dates
A total of 256 teams will be competing in a high-stakes tournament, split into two qualifying phases, each accommodating 128 teams.
Empyrean Cup 2023 September qualifier
- August 29 – Registration start date
- September 16 to 17 – Qualifier dates
Empyrean Cup 2023 October qualifier
- September 22 – Registration start date
- October 14 to 15 – Qualifier dates
Empyrean Cup 2023 Grand Finals
- November 3 to 5 – Offline tournament at ESGS
Note that registration for the online qualifiers will be on a first-come, first-served basis on this website.
The top four teams from each leg will fight for a spot in the Grand Finals, scheduled to take place offline at the Esports and Gaming Summit (ESGS) from November 3-5, 2023.
Empyrean Cup 2023 prize pool
The top four teams will compete for a substantial prize pool of PH₱1 million (US$17,600).
Notably, this thrilling showdown coincides with the Worlds 2023 Qualifiers, adding an extra layer of excitement to the League competitive scene.

Empyrean Cup 2023 registration and eligibility
Participants must be a resident of the Philippines, present government-accepted IDs, and register online via the tournament’s official Google Forms page.
There are no gender restrictions for teams, as long as all participants meet the eligibility requirements.
