Hearthstone’s latest expansion, The Lost City of UnGoro, releases on July 8, 2025 with 145 new cards.
Revisiting the UnGoro Crater, this marks a return to the region first explored in the Journey to UnGoro expansion, released in April 2017.
The new cards include Story and Map cards, a new Kindred keyword, and the return of the Quest keyword.
The Lost City of UnGoro expansion introduces a new keyword: Kindred
“Kindred” reflects the primal energy found within the UnGoro Crater, which can infuse cards with powerful effects.
Kindred cards gain a bonus effect if you played a card of the same minion type or spell school on your preceding turn. This mechanic encourages strategic planning to maximize the benefits of these cards.
In the same vein, the Quest keyword makes a return. Quests are 1-cost spells that are added to your opening hand at the start of a game.
To activate a Quest’s reward, players must fulfill specific requirements during the match. Upon completion, a powerful reward is granted. Each class will receive a new Legendary Quest card in this expansion.
The Lost City of UnGoro introduces new Story and Map cards
Story cards are designed to transmit knowledge, in line with the Tortollan tradition of oral storytelling to educate future generations about the Crater. These cards recount events from previous expeditions into Un’Goro.
Map cards are intended to aid exploration. When played, they allow players to Discover a card. If the chosen card is then played on the same turn, an additional option from the Discover pool is provided.
The expansion includes seven Story cards and six Map cards.
How to get The Lost City of UnGoro expansion set
Three pre-purchase bundle options will be available for The Lost City of UnGoro expansion: the standard Pre-Purchase Bundle, the Mega Bundle, and the Sequence Bundle.
The Sequence Bundle becomes available for purchase after acquiring the other two pre-purchase bundles.
The Mega Bundle contains:
- 80 Lost City of Un’Goro Packs
- 10 Golden Lost City of Un’Goro Packs
- 1 Random Signature The Lost City of Un’Goro Legendary Card
- 1 Random Golden Lost City of Un’Goro Legendary Card
- 4 Tavern Tickets
- The Spiritsinger Umbra Card Back and Warlock Hero Skin
The Sequence Bundle is positioned as the option providing the highest number of packs at launch.
