New characters, new monsters, new features — with everything that miHoYo showcased, the Genshin Impact Version 1.5 livestream had a lot to unpack.

We know that after Venti’s rerun banner, Zhongli will be getting his own rerun banner in this upcoming patch as well as the continuation to his story, Historia Antiqua Chapter: Act II. As Genshin Impact’s highest-earning debut character, fans of Zhongli will surely flock to the new event wish banner and spend all their Primogems trying to get the dark-haired Geo user.

Aside from Zhongli’s comeback, here are five other things to come out of the Genshin Impact Version 1.5 livestream.

5. We can now live inside a teapot

The biggest feature in this patch would have to be the Serenitea Pot, every player’s home away from home. The Serenitea Pot is basically Genshin Impact’s housing system, tucked inside a teapot similar to the unexpected realm from Madame Ping’s teapot in the Archon Quest Chapter I: Act II – Farewell, the Archaic Lord.

Travelers can choose from three different realm layouts — the island Cool Isle, high above the clouds at Emerald Peak, and suspended in Floating Abode.

The teapot spirit Tubby will be the travelers’ guide to exploring and expanding their own Serenitea Pots, from furnishing, decorations, to house pets.

Players can also visit other Serenitea Pots to gather homespirations.

4. Three new monsters will shake up Teyvat

Tired of the usual weekly bosses, regisvines, and hypostases? miHoYo heard your plea and will be spicing up your combat experience by introducing three new monsters to the game.

Azhdaha is an enormous, ancient dragon imprisoned in the mountains of Liyue. He is known as the Lord of Vishaps, and will be joining the club of weekly bosses alongside Andrius, Dvalin, and Childe. Azhdaha may hold plenty of similarities to the Primo Geovishap, but this guy is more terrifying and challenging since he can change the element he is using during combat.

Meanwhile, the Cryo Hypostasis joins the family of Anemo, Electro, and Geo Hypostasis in Version 1.5. When the Cryo Hypostasis reaches low health, it enters a shield to recover from the damage. It will be located in Dragonspine as a new Boss Enemy.

Lastly, the Abyss Herald seemed to have called for backup as the Abyss Lector will soon make its debut in Genshin Impact. The Abyss Lector is a catalyst user and manipulates the Electro element to his advantage. Players need to take note that some of the Abyss Lector’s attacks will decrease characters’ elemental energy when hit.

3. You’ll soon be able hang out with wine connoisseur Diona

We will be getting more visual-novel goodness as Mondstadt’s popular bartender, Diona, joins the Hangout Events. The Hangout Events: Series II will feature two characters — Diona in Act I: The Cat and the Cocktail and the maid Noelle in Act II: Knightly Exam Prep.

If Diona is included in your main party, you need to keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming event Energy Amplifier Initiation which gives rewards like free Primogems, the talent level-up material Crown of Insight, and of course a copy of Diona.

2. Eula and Yanfei are closely linked to each other

Two new playable characters will grace Genshin Impact Version 1.5 — the Cryo-claymore user Eula and the Pyro-catalyst Yanfei. While the former hails from Mondstadt as the Captain of the Knights of Favonius Reconnaissance Company and the latter from Liyue as a legal adviser, Eula and Yanfei have some special connections to one another as revealed during the Version 1.5 Special Program.

Travelers will have to solve this mystery for themselves when the new patch arrives.

Additionally, Yanfei will be a part of Zhongli’s rerun banner “Gentry of Hermitage” while Eula will star in her own event wish banner “Born of Ocean Swell.”

1. Inazuma is almost here

After exploring the grassy plains of Mondstadt and climbing the mountains of Liyue, players are now ready to dive into a whole new city in Teyvat. Of course, we’re talking about the much-awaited Inazuma update. miHoYo has released the concept art for the Electro city to hype all players for its official release.

The concept art for the folllwing four areas have been revealed:

  • Tatarasuna, Kannazuka – houses the Mikage Furnace; includes a mountain nearby teeming with beautiful blossoms
  • Narukami Island – the first sight that will greet you upon entering Inazuma
  • Yashiori Island – an ominous island where a skeleton of a great snake lies
  • Tenshukaku – the Electro Archon’s home, found at the topmost of the city proper

miHoYo has not yet announced the official release date for the Inazuma patch, so players will have to wait a bit longer before they can visit the Japan-inspired city.

The Genshin Impact version 1.5 update, “Beneath the Light of Jadeite,” will be released on April 28. Players can watch the full Genshin Impact Version 1.5 English livestream here.
