The fourth Major of the 2018-2019 Dota 2 Pro Circuit (DPC) will be hosted at Disneyland Paris.

Rumors that a Dota 2 Major was going to be held in Disneyland Paris first circulated early this month and has now been confirmed by organizers Mars Media and Disneyland Paris.

The MDL Disneyland Paris Major will be the first tournament of its kind to be held in Paris, and will run from May 4 to 12.

“We are very excited and proud to bring our own MDL to France thanks to Aymeric Magne and his team at Disneyland Paris. We couldn’t have hoped for a better place and partner to host the very first MDL outside of China. We are looking forward to collaborating with Disneyland Paris which marks our first, but not last, foray into the western esports market,” said Zhang Yu, CEO of Mars Media in a statement.

“We are extremely proud to team up with Mars Media to co-produce a Dota 2 Major for the first time in France. Disneyland Paris will host the best teams in the world for nine days promising our visitors a spectacular one-of-a-kind experience. This new event will further consolidate Disneyland Paris’s position as a go-to destination for live events as well as a major esports partner in Europe,” added Aymeric Magne, Director of the Disneyland Paris Event Group.

There will be six online regional qualifiers to determine which teams will be battling it out at Disney’s Newport Bay Club and the Disney Events Arena.

While the organizers have yet to announce any details regarding the tournament’s prize pool and DPC rewards, all Majors are required to give away at least US$1 million in prizes and 15 thousand DPC points.

There have been three Majors so far this season: The Kuala Lumpur Major hosted by PGL, The Chongqing Major hosted by StarLadder & ImbaTV, and DreamLeague Season 11 hosted by DreamHack. The MDL Disneyland Paris Major is looking to be the biggest one yet.
