The penultimate day of the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League Playoffs finished with a slobber-knocker Lower Bracket Semifinal, that had Geek Fam outplaying T1 with a final 2-1 score.

Geek Fam’s hard carry player, Marc Polo Luis “Raven” Fausto managed two impressively perfect games that helped his team eliminate T1 from the competition, advancing them to the Lower Bracket final match.

Game One

T1’s Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen on his Anti-Mage was the star in the first game of the series. Meracle had an amazing start in the Radiant safe lane, and his early game rotations helped him secure kills against Geek Fam’s heroes.

At the same time, Muhammad “inYourdreaM” Rizky, Tri “Jhocam” Kuncoro, and Wilson “Poloson” Koh Chin Wei helped T1 take control of the game, by landing multiple chain stuns and silences that constantly forced Geek Fam to retreat

Meracle’s Anti-Mage also took advantage of Geek Fam’s heroes that had high mana pools, by getting the maximum amount of damage from his Mana Void ultimate.

Geel Fam had absolutely no answers during the late game team fights, especially with Meracle’s Anti-Mage being six-slotted 36 minutes into the game. T1 then took the early 1-0 lead, once Geek Fam lost control of their Dite base a few minutes later.

Game Two

Geek Fam eventually tied the series by punishing T1’s weak draft. inYourdreaM’s safe lane Drow ranger was constantly killed off, which gave Geek Fam a huge lead. T1’s heroes were forced to play defensively, and this cost them complete map control.

Geek Fam also countered T1’s popular Broodmother pick by placing an Earthshaker in the midlane for Karl “Karl” Jayme. This forced T1 to play passively, which allowed Raven to farm uncontested and finish the game with a perfect 14/0/7 KDA record. Geek Fam totally demoralized T1 with Radiant base siege, and forced the series into its final game.

Game Three

Geek Fam continued to take advantage of their struggling opponents in the final game of the series. And this would only snowball out of T1’s control, as they found themselves 16,000 gold behind at the 28-minute mark.

T1 never found an opportunity to get back into the game, while Geek Fam steadily increased their gold and experience lead. And, with T1 lacking proper team fight control spells, Geek Fam was able to focus down the enemy team’s core heroes immediately during team fights. Raven finished the series with another perfect game and an impressive 8/0/13 KDA record on his Anti-Mage.

With Geek Fam’s 2-1 victory over T1, it is now set to go up against TNC Predator in the Lower Bracket Final, with the winner advancing to the Grand Final to face Fnatic in a best-of-five series.

Meanwhile, T1 finishes the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League campaign in fourth place with US$7,000 in prize pool earnings.
