MW3 Season 2 release date
Modern Warfare Season 2 goes live across all platforms on February 7, 9 a.m. Pacific Time (PT).

MW3 Season 2 new game modes and playlist
There are five new game modes and one playlist available either on launch or mid-season.
- Team Gun Game (launch)
- Snipers Only (launch)
- Hordepoint (limited-time, launch)
- Juggermosh (limited-time, mid-season)
- Bounty (mid-season)
- Vortex: Decay’s Realm playlist (limited-time, mid-season)
MW3 Season 2 new weapons and aftermarket parts
Four new weapons are arriving in the upcoming season. These are the:
- BP50 assault rifle (available on launch, Battle Pass Sector B7)
- RAM-9 submachine gun (available on launch, Battle Pass Sector B6)
- SOA Subverter battle rifle (in-season, weekly challenge)
- Soulrender melee (in-season, acquisition method not yet revealed)
Additionally, there are seven new aftermarket parts to unlock via the Battle Pass or weekly challenges throughout the season.
- JAK Burnout for Holger 26 LMG (Battle Pass)
- JAK Tyrant 762 Kit for Longbow sniper rifle (weekly challenge)
- JAK Backsaw Kit for Holger 556 assault rifle (weekly challenge)
- JAK Limb Ripper underbarrel attachment for several weapons (weekly challenge)
- JAK Maglift Kit for Haymaker shotgun (weekly challenge)
- JAK Outlaw-277 Kit for BAS-B battle rifle (weekly challenge)
- JAK Glassless Optic attachment for several weapons (weekly challenge)
MW3 Season 2 Ranked Play
Ranked Play in Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 starts on launch day and runs throughout the season.
These are the Season 2 challenge rewards:
- Win 5 ranked matches: “MWIII Season 2 Competitor” sticker
- Win 10 ranked matches: “Pro Issue MCW” weapon blueprint
- Win 25 ranked matches: “Farmed Them” charm
- Win 50 ranked matches: “Hard Day’s Work” weapon decal
- Win 75 ranked matches: “MWIII Season 2 Competitor” loading screen
- Win 100 ranked matches: “MWIII Season 2 Ranked Veteran” weapon camo

Meanwhile, these are the skill division rewards:
- Bronze, Silver: Emblem
- Gold, Platinum, Diamon, and Crimson: Animated emblem and weapon camo
- Iridiscent: Animated calling card, animated emblem, and weapon camo
- Top 250: Animated calling card, emblem, and weapon camo
- #1 Overall: Animated calling card and emblem
MW3 Season 2 new perk
Modern Warfare 3 Season 2 introduces a new perk, the Ninja Vest.
This perk eliminates footstep sounds, makes you immune to movement reduction effects, provides extra Shuriken and Throwing Knife ammo, and resupplies Shuriken and Throwing Knife every 25 seconds.
Additionally, it grants the effect of Running Sneakers when you equip it together with Covert Sneakers.
- Equipment slots: Tactical, Lethal Field Upgrade
- Gear Slots: Gloves, Boots, Gear
MW3 Season 2 new Prestige ranks
The Prestige system continues in Season 2, with 200 more levels and four additional Prestige ranks to be unlocked.
An exclusive set of tiered challenges gets unlocked at each Prestige rank, with calling cards in both Multiplayer and Zombies as rewards. Furthermore, reaching Prestige 9 grants a RAM-7 weapon blueprint.
You can continue grinding from the Prestige rank you achieved in Season 1.
MW3 Season 2 new limited-time events
- Horde Hunt: February 7 to March 6, four total rewards
- Year of the Dragon: February 9 to 14, 10 total rewards
- Cryptid Bootcamp: February 14 to 28, nine total rewards
- The Walking Dead: Fear the Living: February 28 to March 6, 10 total rewards
- Vortex: Decay’s Realm (Season 2 Reloaded event): mid-season
- Dune: Rule of Fate (Season 2 Reloaded event): mid-season
