With the latest Call of Duty update hitting the live servers, Season 3 Reloaded has officially added throwing stars to the game.

The developers have been pretty active with adding weapons, putting in several per update. Some of the more popular that have come out in the last two seasons include the ISO Hemlock, Tempus Torrent, and FJX Imperium.

Season 3 Reloaded brought with it the FTAC Siege and GS Magna handguns in addition to the throwing star.

In terms of how to get the lethal weapon to replace your semtex or frag grenade, you’ll need to make good use of the throwing knife. In order to unlock the new projectile, you’ll need to achieve 50 kills with the throwing knife.

If you’re wondering why you might use the throwing star over the knife, well, according to the developers, it’s a faster projectile and also goes farther than the knife.

“A compelling, high-skill alternative to the Throwing Knife, the Throwing Star demands more accuracy from its wielder. While less accurate hits will not result in a kill, this is more than compensated for in its ammo capacity and rapid deployment capabilities,” the announcement said.

It’s worth noting, however, that the weapon will require two body shots or one headshot to eliminate your opponent.

So if you’re feeling like you need to get a few ninja kills, make sure to complete the challenge and start chucking stars from the shadows.
