What is Demon Slayer about?
In Koyoharu Gotouge’s manga series, known in Japan as Kimetsu no Yaiba, demons lurk in the darkness, constantly threatening humanity.
Tanjiro Kamado, a kind boy with a strong sense of duty, discovers this terrifying reality when demons slaughter his family. Miraculously, his younger sister, Nezuko Kamado, survives at a terrible cost – she’s transformed into a demon herself.
Fueled by vengeance and a glimmer of hope to find a cure for Nezuko, Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to become a Demon Slayer.
He joins the Demon Slayer Corps, a secretive organization dedicated to hunting down the bloodthirsty creatures, and safeguarding humanity from the horrors of the night.
Demon Slayer Season 3 recap
In the Swordsmith Village Arc of Demon Slayer season 3, Tanjiro’s main goal is to replace his broken Nichirin sword, which is essential for demon slaying.
This quest leads him to a hidden village where these specialized blades are made. He meets the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji and the Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito during his visit.
However, their peaceful stay is disrupted by a coordinated attack from the Upper Demon Moons Gyokko and Hantengu. These powerful demons aim to weaken the Demon Slayers by destroying their source of Nichirin swords.
The ensuing battle is intense and reveals a significant revelation. Nezuko, despite being a demon, shows remarkable resistance to sunlight, a weakness all demons have had since the Demon King Muzan’s rise.
This discovery excites Muzan, who sees Nezuko as the key to gaining immunity to sunlight and achieving ultimate immortality.
Recognizing the increased threat, the remaining Hashira make a critical decision. They join forces to train Tanjiro and the other demon slayers, preparing them for the inevitable confrontation with Muzan.
This rigorous training will be crucial as they face the challenges in their battle against the ultimate evil.
