The Elusive Samurai episode 6 recap
Episode 6, titled “Steal the Imperial Command from Ogasawara’s Residence at Night,” continued the thrilling escape of Tokiyuki and Genba from Sadamune Ogasawara and Sakefusa Ichikawa’s camp.
The duo had successfully stolen the Imperial Command, a document that would have forced Yorishige Suwa and his clan to abandon Sawa Province. The Imperial Command is a direct order from Takauji Ashikaga, the man behind the rebellion against the Hojo clan and the destruction of Kamakura.
However, Sakefusa’s extraordinary hearing abilities soon led him to Tokiyuki and Genba. Genba’s impulsive attempt to flee nearly cost them their lives in the ensuing chaos, but Tokiyuki’s swift intervention saved the day.
Genba employed a clever trick to sever Sadamune’s bowstring with their pursuers closing in, distracting Sakefusa long enough for Tokiyuki to escape.
Unbeknownst to their enemies, Genba and Tokiyuki had already set fire to the warehouse containing the Imperial Command, effectively destroying their opponents’ plans to claim Sawa Province.
Meanwhile, the capital was inundated with false requests, rendering Sakefusa and Sadamune unable to acquire a new Imperial Command. This development secured Sawa Province as a haven for Yorishige and Tokiyuki.
Upon Tokiyuki’s return, Yorishige emphasized the formidable nature of their ultimate adversary, Takauji Ashikaga. Renowned as one of the country’s greatest swordsmen and beloved by his followers, Ashikaga posed a significant threat.
Despite this, Tokiyuki remained confident in their ability to reclaim their homeland, strengthened by the loyalty of their newly formed allies.
