Capcom has just revealed that they have decided to remove the entire first half of the 2020 Capcom Pro Tour season from the schedule.

Capcom announced that the COVID-19 novel coronavirus is projected to continue for several more months or longer across the world. Because of this, the company has decided not to put its players, staff, and visitors at risk.

This means that all CPT events from March to early July will no longer be part of the 2020 schedule. Here is the list of all events in the first half of the 2020 CPT season:

Season 1 Premier events:

  • Brussels Challenge (March 20-22)
  • The Mixup (April 18-19)
  • Texas Showdown (May1-3)
  • Battle Arena Melbourne 12 (May 29-31)
  • Combo Breaker (TBD)
  • CEO (June 26-28)
  • Game Over (July 4-5)

Season 1 Ranking events:

  • Fighters Spirit (March 28-29)
  • Norcal Regionals (April 10-12)
  • April Annihilation (April 10-20)
  • Armor Break (April 25)
  • Headstomper (May 8-10)
  • Taipei Major (May 15-17)
  • Thaiger Uppercut (June 6-7)
  • Undefeated (June 13-14)

Capcom will resume the 2020 CPT season in July, but only if conditions begin to improve around the world. The 2020 CPT season is now set to start with Sonic Boom, which is scheduled to take place on July 10-12 in Madrid, Spain.
