The League of Legends (LoL) European Championship (LEC) has announced that Red Bull will be added to the league’s list of sponsors.

Red Bull will become the official energy drink supplier for the 2019 season of the LEC. League of Legends developer Riot Games plans to work closely with the company to launch and promote grassroots LoL competitions and other events across Europe.

Riot has yet to provide any details on what those events would be however. Although it must be noted that Red Bull owns a variety of esports venues all across the world. One that could be a venue for the partnership in the future would be the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London, which has already hosted a number of grassroots events in the United Kingdom.

Only a few weeks remain for the LEC Spring Split, with the regular season ending on March 16. The top six teams from the regular season will proceed to the playoffs for a shot at claiming the Spring Split championship.
