League of Legends patch 11.11 spells big changes for supports. The once-neglected Wardstone vision item that absolutely no one bought is now super gold efficient thanks to the latest buffs to its Vigilant Wardstone upgrade.

Riot Games stated that they intend for Wardstone to function like Rabadon’s, Infinity Edge, and Gargoyle Stoneplate, “all of which are stronger after you pick up a few other items”.

The best part? Stirring Wardstone has been completely removed in patch 11.11, and the tier two to tier three Wardstone upgrade is now triggered automatically at level 13 after supports complete their quest.

How patch 11.11 changes item choices for supports

According to David “Phreak” Turley’s detailed patch 11.11 breakdown, the new Watchful Wardstone is still “trash”, much like the old one. What supports want, however, is its upgrade.

In patch 11.11, supports at level 13 can directly purchase Vigilant Wardstone, which is inexpensive and beneficial since they naturally do not get much gold in-game.

Vigilant Wardstone costs a flat 1,100 gold — the cheapest legendary item in the game — and will also contribute to supports’ Mythic passive.

Note that Blessing of Ixtal increases bonus attack damage, a stat that Senna solely builds. For her, it’s a definite must-buy.

According to Phreak’s calculations, the extra stats from Blessing of Ixtal makes Vigilant Wardstone 500 gold more efficient after a support completes their Mythic and first Legendary item.

“You are getting bribed to buy this item. It holds onto your wards, it gives you the ward cap, it’s absurdly gold efficient on stats you care about,” said Phreak in his patch rundown video.

“This item is so good that it should be slightly meta-warping. I say that because getting a fourth ward is really, really, really good.”
