At the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) Winter 2024, G2 Esports once again showcased their dominance by successfully defending their championship title.

Going head-to-head against lower bracket kings MAD Lions KOI in a best-of-five series, G2 Esports won in a 3-1 victory, solidifying their status as the top contenders in the league.

G2 Esports stayed strong in the playoffs, never losing a series. They won the top prize of US$43,000 along with 120 championship points.

In game one, MAD Lions KOI delivered an outstanding performance, demonstrating exceptional map control and aggressive plays.

Rookie player Alex “Myrwn” Pastor Villarejo’s Yasuo secured a quadrakill, ultimately propelling the team to victory.



G2 sought revenge in game two. Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik’s K’Sante excelled during the mid game by consistently finding picks in one-on-one situations.

He maintained a flawless KDA and his stellar plays were instrumental in the team’s effort to even the score to 1-1.

In game three, BrokenBlade shone again, executing a three-man Slicing Maelstrom on Kennen by the 15-minute mark, setting up plays for his team.



By game four, G2 stood poised to secure their championship title.

Demonstrating the essence of “top diff,” it’s BrokenBlade again who illustrated the impact of a three-level advantage by the 12-minute mark, dominating the mid-game phase and outplaying MAD Lions KOI.

Martin “Yike” Sundelin’s Lillia too, provided crucial support to the team with his impressive 95.2% kill participation, making his presence know.



With the 3-1 victory, G2 successfully defended their LEC Winter title and secured the first qualification spot for the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI 2024).

This win marks their 13th title overall championship title since they joined the LEC in 2016.
